This is by far the hottest grup band to cover Iron Maiden. They are obviously the Iron MaidenS, proclaimed world's only female tribute band to Iron Maiden. Well, certainly they are the most popular one and commercially successful also. The band released three albums so far. In this debut album, World's Only Female Tribute to Iron Maiden, the band choose ten + 1 live classics song to cover. Their choices are a carefully selection of vocal style that match with the singer. As with many commercially Iron Maiden tribute album, the cover artwork was done by Derek Riggs himself, the creator of Eddie. This time it is the female Eddie storming the city of Los Angeles.
I like The Trooper, Phantom Of The Opera and Killers, which provide different feel of Iron Maiden classic with female voices, as well Paul Di'Anno era punkish tracks. This album can serves you well even if you are not really Iron Maiden fans. Later on the band will record two more albums, Route 666 and The Root of All Evil EP. 4/5 rating.
Wikipedia article:
The album was recorded by the band's third-generation lineup, which consisted of co-founders Linda McDonald (drums), Sara Marsh (guitar) and Josephine Draven (guitar), along with Wanda Ortiz on bass and Aja Kim on lead vocals. Draven left the band a few months after the album was released.[2] Even though her replacement, Elizabeth Schall, was pictured on the Japanese release version, Draven was still credited as playing all stage left guitars. Schall was released from the band two months before this album was released in Japan.
