Song : 22 Acacia Avenue
Performer : Stygma IV
Origin: Austria
Album : Phobia, 2001
Stygma IV is a power metal band that somehow manage to get a lot of appreciation among fans. This is mainly for their power metal works that rated as 'very good' by many fans. Their album Hell Within was responsible for that.
In this Iron Maiden cover of 22 Acacia Avenue, we got a heavier guitars and raw vocals. Addition of backing strings also make this version fresh. Guitar are re-works to give it more push.
from the Metal Archives notes :
Stygma IV are no longer active due to drummer Herb Greisberger's inability to play anymore. Back problems forced him to stop and on November 24th, 2005 the band decided they would not continue with another drummer.
Günter Maier and Alexander Hilzensauer are nowadays playing in metal bands from southern Germany.
Previously known as Muddy Crutch, then Big Heat and Stigmata, the band added the appendage "IV" after the release of their first album, due to existing rights on the name by another band. After a while, they had to rename themselves again because of court ruling, and since then they are known as Stygma IV.
